Career Series: Presidential Rank Awards and Executive Development

Join us for a discussion on how you can advance your Federal career and how to become a Presidential Rank Award winner. Nancy E. Randa, Deputy Associate Director for Learning, Executive Resources, and Policy Analysis at OPM’s Strategic Human Resources Policy Division will speak to OPM’s executive development program and the awards process and qualifications needed. Marylouise Uhlig, Associate Assistant Administrator for Management in EPA’s Office of Prevention, Pesticides and Toxic Substances EPA will share her experiences and guidance on developing a satisfying career.

You’ll also have the opportunity to meet past Presidential Rank Award winners and hear their tips on the achieving this award.

About Our Presenters
Nancy Randa is Deputy Associate Director of the Center for Learning, Executive Resources, and Policy Analysis at the U.S. Office of Personnel Management, where her organization develops policies and guidance supporting effective executive resources and executive development, including administration of the Presidential Rank Awards program. The Center also sets policy for workforce training and provides research support for policy, including the Federal Human Capital Survey. Formerly, she was the Deputy Associate Director for Talent Services, leading an organization that offers reimbursable services and support to Federal agencies in assessment, training and management assistance, and technology services.

Marylouise Uhlig serves as the Associate Assistant Administrator for Management in the Office of Prevention, Pesticides and Toxic Substances (OPPTS) at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). She serves as principal advisor to the Assistant Administrator on OPPTS policy, program planning, management, resources and general administration. Her responsibilities range from budget oversight to facilitation of Regional/State/Public communications. She joined EPA in 1974 and has held a number of increasingly senior positions: Chief, Executive Development and Career Systems; Executive Officer to the Administrator; Director of Program Management in the Office of Solid Waste and Emergency Response. Prior to joining EPA, Ms. Uhlig also held management positions at the Department of the Navy and the Defense Mapping Agency.
