Women, Development and Micro Credit |
 |
April
17, 2008
The International Alliance for Women (TIAW),
of which EWG is a member, is a vital part of a movement to give
poor women in underdeveloped regions access to capital with which
to start small home-based businesses. Seventy-five percent of the
people in the world who live on less than $1.00 per day are women.
Micro Credit is a powerful force for the eradication of poverty
in the world and to empower women in their personal and professional
lives.
Learn about this innovative financial
tool and EWG's microcredit village banks in Tanzania, Pakistan,
and Mexico. Our guest speakers include several EWG members active
in TIAW. Direct any questions to perry.kate@epa.gov.
