February
15, 2007
The last few years have been extraordinary times in the capital
markets. Driven by strong corporate earnings and robust economic
growth, stock markets at home and abroad recorded double-digit gains
in 2006. Apart from a brief period of rockiness in the second quarter
of 2006, when investor confidence faltered in response to sharply
rising oil prices, financial markets globally were unusually calm
through most of the year, as they have been for the last three years.
While there are no clear indications of change on the horizon, we
expect global economic growth and corporate profit growth to slow
somewhat in the coming year.
Join us for a conversation with Ms. Fisher, who will review the
markets’ performance and discuss Bernstein’s outlook
for 2007.
