EWG Members Enjoy a Night at the Theater
What better way to spend an evening out than at the theater, with colleagues and newly-made friends? A group of EWG members, representing several federal agencies, enjoyed an evening out at the Arena Stage Theater in Washington, D.C. The renovated Arena Stage now has a one of the largest cantilevered roof in the U.S. which is tapered to a compass point, aligned with the Maine Avenue axis, and salutes the Washington Monument. Prior to attending their selected show, attendees gathered for dinner at the on-site cafe. As frequently happens at EWG events, the members soon found common ties during their animated discussions and, by the end of dinner, were exchanging business cards and promises to stay in touch. Given the Theater's 4 stages, members were able to select from two shows being presented that evening: a more traditional theater experience, “Red,” or a more adventuresome production, "The Elephant Room." "Red", the winner of six Tony Awards including best play, portrays the inside world of painter Mark Rothko, who confronts his own demons when his new assistant challenges his artistic integrity. "The Elephant Room" examines the childlike wonder of three deluded illusionists who choose to live their off-center lives by sleight of hand. EWG affords its members the opportunity to network in a variety of fora--from its Annual Training Summit, to lectures, to mentoring events, to an evening out--the hallmark of each of these events is the warm welcome we extend to new members and guests who join us. Please check our calendar of events and come out to meet federal executives who share your leadership interests and who can help you grow as a manager and leader. |
