To promote, support and mentor women for senior leadership positions in the Federal government.

EWG seeks to:

1. Advocate the advancement of women in senior leadership positions in the Federal government, including taking a public position on issues related to the purposes and goals of the organization.

2. Be mutually supportive in members' professional pursuits.

3. Provide an opportunity to become better acquainted with other professional women in an atmosphere conducive to the constructive exchange of professional ideas.

4. Encourage, by collective example and action, interest and participation in public service by other women.

To further these goals, EWG holds monthly meetings with guest speakers who discuss topics of an educational nature or which highlight contributions of outstanding women. The organization also holds an annual conference featuring speakers and topics of benefit to senior level professionals and publishes a periodic newsletter to keep its members informed. In addition, it maintains affiliations with a number of other organizations with similar goals in order to better serve its members and advance common goals.
